Boogie

Birthdate: April 5, 2005

Gender: Male

Special need(s):
Global Developmental Delays

Boogie was a foundling. He was found in front of a school and was referred for temporary shelter and case management. Boogie was approximately 3 years old when found and he cannot remember details about his parents. His speech was also not clear. During his initial stay at the center, he would cry and look for his mother but eventually adjusted and started to mingle with other children.

Boogie was assessed to be developmentally delayed. He can feed himself with little spillage and takes a bath with the assistance of his caregivers. He is not yet toilet trained and is still using diapers. He can utter two syllable words but some of his words are vague. For most of the times he indicates his wants by pointing accompanied by unclear verbal language. He can follow simple instructions and can point at least 6 parts of his body. He can stand on one foot for two seconds and walks up and down the stairs holding in the rails with both feet on the same step.

Boogie is a very active, sweet and loving child. He likes attention and love to be cuddled by his caregivers. He is attending tutorial classes inside the center where he learns to identify and read the alphabet, shapes and colors. His caregivers also continue to train him to do daily living activities, encourage vocabulary and correct his language usage through information talk and other learning activities.
