Family Support
The process of international adoption is long and difficult, and from the beginning of this process, each family is matched with one of our country specific Family Coordinators to comfort and encourage them. Sometimes the Coordinator acts as a liaison between the family and adoption agency, and helps with the daunting paperwork process. At other times, the coordinator only listens and sympathizes as the family suffers through the long delays without any news about their child. In all cases, the Family Coordinator commits to pray faithfully for the family and their waiting child. The Shepherd’s Crook Ministries also sets up an account for each child so that tax-deductible donations can be made to help with the enormous cost of international adoption. Once the child comes home, many families face difficult adjustments because of language barriers and differences in customs; often, these families continue to rely on their coordinator for support.
